Hello everyone!

Thanks for coming back to WP Secure Labs! I hope everyone is doing well and is taking the proper measurements to secure their WordPress site from hackers.

Today we are going to discuss the 5 Best Backup Plugins for WordPress.

If you are not currently backing up your WordPress site with a backup plugin installed, you are literally asking to lose your online business for good.

You may have website backups enabled with your web hosting provider, but it is always a good idea to have a second source to back up your sites, so you can have redundancy & have a copy of your site in many different places.

When sh*t hits the fan, you want to be rest assured that you can grab a copy of your website and get it back up and running in no time.

I am going to share with you the 5 best backup plugins available for WordPress and give you my favorite one I have been using for many years.

So without further ado, let’s begin.

Backup Plugin #1: Updraft Plus (My Personal Favorite)

I have been using Updraft Plus for many years across different blogs and I have been very pleased with it so far.

Once installed and activated, it is very easy to run backups. With Updraft Plus, you can backup your site manually or schedule Updraft plus to backup your site automatically on a daily, weekly, monthly, basis.

The interface is very easy to use and you can send your backups to remote storage services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, etc, so you can retrieve a copy of your site from the cloud.

One of my favorite features of Updraft Plus is that I am able to restore backups direct from the control panel within my site with a click of a button. You don’t need technical knowledge, copy files from one place to another, or any of that sort of stuff. Just one click and you are back in action.

Oh, and I did mention it’s FREE?

The free version is all you really need in my opinion. They do have a premium plugin you can buy that comes with more features, but I feel it’s unnecessary for most people. The features available in the free version are perfect for most people and most will be very satisfied.

Backup Plugin #2: BackupBuddy

BackupBuddy is another solid backup plugin option for WordPress.

You will be able to backup all of your WordPress database and files, schedule your backups to run automatically, store your backups in the cloud, and restore your site fast with the click of a button.

BackupBuddy also has a migration feature where you are able to move your site to an entirely new web hosting provider or change your domain name without interrupting any of your original features or messing up any URLs.

BackupBuddy costs $80 for the cheapest license, and you should get this if you plan on moving hosts, changing your domain name, or both.

Backup Plugin #3: BlogVault

According to the BlogVault website, they are trusted by over 400,000 websites.

BlogVault offers most features that most backup plugins have, but one thing that caught my interest is that they offer an integrated staging feature, so you can test new updates and changes without making it live until you are ready to do so.

Also, you are able to manage multiple sites with their centralized dashboard. This means if you have multiple sites you can migrate, backup, restore from a central location without having to hop from site to site.

This feature alone is a serious time saver.

The Basic plan starts from $7.40 a month/ $89 a year and you will get your basic backup features. If you sign up for the Plus or Advanced plan, you will get WordPress Security features such as malware scanning & removal, a firewall, and website uptime & performance monitoring.

BlogVault plugin is a very good option to go with if you want to backup your site and get security features also.

Backup Plugin #4: Jetpack

The Jetpack backup plugin is a “no-frills”, affordable option for those who just want to backup their sites without any extra features.

The cheapest plan will run you $4.92 a month. With this plan, you will get 10 GB of backup storage, one-click restore from the last 30 days of backups, real-time backups, and store your backups in the cloud.

This is a good option if you want a simple backup plugin without any extra frills.

Backup Plugin #5: BackupWPup

BackupWPup is a simple backup plugin that will allow you to backup and restore your sites easily.

The free version allows you to backup your site and store the backup on your favorite cloud storage provider.

This simple plugin will get your backups up and running fast. Get this plugin if you don’t need extra features and you just want simplicity.

In conclusion, backing up your site with a backup plugin is crucial for the security of your site. If your site goes down for any reason, you will be thankful that you have a copy of your site and you can reinstall it quickly.

That’s all for now, thanks for coming by. If you have any questions comments or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comment section. See you next time!
